Behind the work
A colour, a form, a material, a fragrance, a taste… the things that make up a life.
I’ve always felt this, even when I couldn’t put it into words: we are made to meet and to have an experience with everything around us. Our body is made to perceive. The senses exist precisely to let us do this - to connect us with what surrounds us.
I’ve always been deeply convinced that everything around us holds a message, and for this reason I’ve become more and more conscious of the intention I put into anything I design. Because I know well that when I create something - no matter how big or small, what is it and in what form or in what way it reaches the other person - my energy and my intention, are present, and will be felt by whoever meets it - consciously or not.
This is a responsibility I feel as true. Creating, for me, is an act of personal expression as much as of collective expression - communication with others. Even if it stays in my studio, among my papers, in my notes, it is still a mark that goes out, energy that circulates in ways that are simply hard for most of us to grasp. (I’ve personally come to accept the limits of my understanding, and I’ve learned to trust more and more what I feel - and this, I feel, as I always have.) This is why the intention an object holds matters. For the one who creates and for the one who receives.
I work with artisans and makers who feel this theirs too, bringing craft that stays authentic without staying exclusive, so that art and emotion can reach many, not only a few.

The objects I love are the kind of ordinary ones that become extraordinary because they have something you don’t expect and that resonate with you the moment you see it.
You just see them as yours, in your own gestures, rooms, places. They speak of something you believe in, that you recognise yourself in, a world you both belong to. As if they spoke your language without saying a word. You understand each other, just with a glance.
These, for me, are the object non-objects. And my world is full of them.

I love giving form, character and identity to things. Things we can recognise ourselves in, because it’s in that process that I find myself too.
This design was born from the meeting of simple, intuitive forms like the sphere and the cylinder, gradually becoming a playful and, at times, human silhouette. Everyone recognises a different character in it, because our perception - as we know - is filtered through our personal experiences, and behind them, is our own unique way of feeling the world waiting to be seen, and expressed.
A soft, natural and delicate movement. Like the one of a leaf slowly falling down the tree. That becomes on this surface a gentle boundary to hold more.
It started with the sketch of a plated skirt, and the rest of the shape came out from there as if it wanted to become a dress. I imagined it in a fresh and light spring afternoon, the sun getting warmer, the colours getting lighter, and the spirit sensing freedom.
